In 2024, Nokian Tyres is expanding its workforce at the newly established Oradea factory in Bihor County, aiming to fill nearly 350 roles. This recruitment drive is part of the company's efforts to bolster its latest production facility with a mix of managerial and production staff.
Interested individuals are encouraged to explore these employment opportunities and apply either online through the official Nokian Tyres website at www.nokiantyres.ro or directly at the project site, located at 36 Ogorului Street, Oradea. This initiative is set to raise the total number of employees at the Oradea site to approximately 550.
Susanna Tusa, the General Director and Vice President of Nokian Tyres Romania Operations and leader of the Romanian factory project, highlighted the significance of assembling a strong team for the success of the Oradea plant. With numerous activities underway both on-site and within the HR department, the goal is to recruit over 500 dedicated individuals to join the company. Tusa extended an invitation to potential candidates to apply, aiming to forge a path toward a prosperous career at Nokian Tyres in Romania.
A special Launch Team will be established in the early part of next year, receiving training in Spring at Nokian Tyres headquarters in Nokia, Finland.
The Oradea facility is set to join Nokian Tyres' global manufacturing network, which includes operations in the US and Finland, enhancing the company's production capabilities. With an initial annual capacity to produce 6 million tires, focusing on larger rim size tires for passenger cars and SUVs primarily for the Central European market, the plant has room for future expansion. Additionally, the site will feature a distribution center for tire storage and distribution. The construction encompasses roughly 100,000 square meters, with the greenfield investment valued at around EUR 650 million, marking it as one of Romania's most significant investments in recent years.
