In a significant development for Finnish international trade, Poland has ascended to become the 7th largest export partner for Finland in 2023. With goods worth EUR 2,622 million exported to Poland, Finland's trade relations with the country have outpaced its exports to other notable nations such as Norway, France, Italy, Spain, and the UK.
December 2023 saw a diverse range of goods being exported from Finland to Poland, with the top five categories including paper, paperboard, and related articles; specialized industry machinery; iron and steel; electric machinery; and general industrial machinery. This variety underscores the dynamic nature of Finland's export offerings and Poland's robust demand for Finnish goods.
Conversely, imports from Poland to Finland also showcased a vibrant trade relationship, totaling EUR 2,819 million in 2023. The leading import categories into Finland from Poland in December were notably diverse, featuring hides, skins, furskins; electric machinery; petroleum and its products; general industrial machinery; and manufactured metals, reflecting a wide-ranging economic interaction between the two nations.
