Koskisen, a renowned wood products company, is expanding its Kore business, which specializes in interior solutions for light commercial vehicles, by investing approximately EUR 3 million. This investment will be directed towards advanced machinery, including CNC machines and other essential production equipment. The new production unit will be located in Skwierzyna, Poland, in a leased facility with a long-term agreement and purchase option.
The expansion will increase the Kore business’s production space from 3,000 m2 to 8,000 m2, enabling a significant scaling of production capacity. This development supports the diversification of Kore's product range and expansion into new market areas.
"Expanding the Kore business is a key growth strategy, aiming for profitable growth through new products and customers," said Tom-Peter Helenius, Director of the Panel Industry.
Market trends such as rising logistics volumes, strong growth in e-commerce deliveries, and the electrification of vehicles are driving the demand for light commercial vehicles and the wood panels used in their interiors.
"This investment will significantly enhance Kore's competitiveness and ability to add value for our customers, establishing it as a major player in its European market," stated Jori Silfverberg, Director of the Kore business.
Kore products, including floor and lining components, wheel arches, and accessories for light commercial vehicles, are customized from plywood and other materials to meet customer specifications.
Koskisen began producing interior solutions for light commercial vehicles under the Kore brand in Toporów, Poland, in 2010. The current production unit employs about 70 people, and the new unit in Skwierzyna will require an additional 30–40 employees. The Kore business is part of the Panel Industry segment.
