The Polish government has announced plans to invest PLN 3 billion (€687 million) to bolster its ammunition production capabilities.
A draft law published on the government's website outlines the initiative, emphasizing the need to expand and diversify the national production base for large-caliber ammunition and to replenish existing reserves.
The proposed legislation establishes a legal framework for allocating funds to the Capital Investment Fund, which will be utilized to recapitalize companies involved in ammunition manufacturing. Specifically, PLN 2 billion (€458 million) of the total investment will be sourced from the Ministry of Defence's budget.
The government aims to adopt the bill in the fourth quarter of this year, reflecting a strategic move to enhance national defense capabilities amid evolving security challenges.
