Intel Corporation has officially commenced its €4.14 billion ($4.6 billion) investment project for a new semiconductor factory near Wrocław, Poland. The construction site, located in the Miękinia-Środa Śląska Industrial Park within the Legnica Special Economic Zone, has been handed over to the contractor, marking the beginning of this significant development.
The project involves the preparation of a 50-hectare site, which includes land leveling and the construction of a rainwater retention tank. This state-of-the-art facility is expected to create 2,000 direct jobs and generate thousands more in related industries, significantly boosting the local economy.
This new factory will complement Intel’s existing and upcoming production sites in Ireland and Germany, forming a critical part of Intel’s broader strategy to establish a robust semiconductor supply chain across Europe.
