Established in 2019, TextureJet is delivering a tooling platform with world leading capability to selectively change the surface texture of components, resulting in streamlined production lines.
Offering an attractive alternative to existing technologies for roughening or etching of surfaces leading to reductions in factory and toxic footprint and operational costs. Our end to end solution for surface texturing delivers both off-the-shelf as well as bespoke machine tools, which can be developed on-site in collaboration with OEMs.
Designed by a consortium from the University of Nottingham and backed by an Innovate UK grant, alongside funding from Nottingham Technology Ventures and MICRA, part of the Midlands Innovation partnership.
Accreditations:
Texture Jet is accredited to both ISO9001 quality standards and ISO14001 environmental standards by QMS.
| Electrochemical jet machining (EJM) explained The core technology TextureJet utilises is electrochemical jet machining (EJM). This is a highly localised variant of electrochemical machining (ECM).
Both ECM and EJM are anodic dissolution processes based on the electrolysis work of Faraday and capable of material manipulation at an atomic level. Both processes are capable of material removal without affecting a components surface integrity and physical properties such as hardness and toughness have no effect on machinability. |
| Texture Jet’s New QR Code Machining Capability Texture Jet Ltd, based in Nottingham, UK, is using its patented electrochemical jet machining (EJM) technology, a highly localised variant of electrochemical machining (ECM), to post process metal additively manufactured parts. Using its EJM process, Texture Jet. | |
