Polish family-owned bakery Nowel, boasting nearly a century of tradition, has commenced the construction of a new state-of-the-art plant. Initiated in March, the bakery is expected to be fully operational by the end of this year. The initial phase of the project is valued at EUR 47 million, with a total projected investment of EUR 188 million.
Expansion to Boost Production and Efficiency
The new facility will significantly enhance Nowel's production capacity, streamline logistics, and optimize production processes. Upon completion, it will stand as the largest bakery in Poland and one of the largest in Europe. The expansion is also set to create up to 600 new jobs, further contributing to the local economy.
Meeting Global and Domestic Demand
Currently, Nowel supplies baked goods to 27 international markets, with exports constituting about 30% of its total business. The new plant is designed to cater to both domestic and international markets. In response to challenging economic conditions, countries that were previously closed to bread imports are now seeking new suppliers, providing Nowel with additional growth opportunities.
A Century of Excellence
Founded almost 100 years ago, Nowel has a rich heritage of baking excellence. The new investment underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and growth, ensuring that they continue to meet the evolving needs of their customers both at home and abroad.
Strategic Growth and Market Expansion
With this significant investment, Nowel is well-positioned to capitalize on new market opportunities and expand its reach. The company's forward-thinking approach and dedication to quality ensure it remains a leading player in the global bakery industry.
