Azelis, a global leader in specialty chemicals distribution, has announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares in Hortimex, a prominent Polish distributor specializing in food ingredients and nutraceuticals. This strategic move strengthens Azelis' presence in the Polish market, particularly within the food and nutrition sectors.

Expected to close in the fourth quarter, pending customary transaction approvals, the acquisition will bolster Azelis’ lateral value chain in Poland. Azelis already operates in the region through its Regional Competence Center for Meat and Meat Alternatives in Poznań. Hortimex, on the other hand, has a strong reputation for providing high-quality non-meat food ingredients, including solutions for human nutrition, functional preparations, confectionery, and bakery products.

This acquisition positions Azelis to enhance its service offerings to local customers, leveraging Hortimex’s extensive product portfolio, skilled sales and technical teams, and deep-rooted relationships with key principals. The deal is expected to accelerate Azelis' growth in Poland, providing new opportunities to expand its market share.
