FL Technics, a leading global provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services and part of Avia Solutions Group, has announced plans to acquire JOB AIR Technic a.s., a major Czech MRO company. The deal, which remains subject to standard closing conditions and regulatory approval, significantly strengthens FL Technics’ position in the European aviation maintenance market.
The acquisition includes a 17,000-square-meter aircraft maintenance facility located at Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava. This site gives FL Technics immediate access to substantial MRO capacity in a key Central European hub, improving service coverage for airlines across the region.
Founded in 1993 and formerly owned by the Czechoslovak Group (CSG), JOB AIR Technic employs more than 400 aviation specialists. Its two hangars provide eight fully equipped bays capable of handling both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft. The company delivers a full range of base maintenance capabilities, including structural and composite repairs, avionics, interior refurbishment, emergency equipment servicing, and non-destructive testing (NDT). JOB AIR also operates a Part-147 training centre for maintenance professionals.
The MRO provider services a wide portfolio of aircraft, including the Airbus A320 family (A320neo included), Airbus A330, and Boeing 737 NG and MAX. Its broad regulatory approvals from EASA, FAA, Transport Canada, Bermuda CAA and other authorities enable maintenance for aircraft registered in multiple jurisdictions.
Zilvinas Lapinskas, CEO of FL Technics, commented:
“JOB AIR brings substantial maintenance capacity into our global network. With eight operational bays ready to serve customers, we bypass the years typically required to build and certify new facilities. This acquisition expands our client base and strengthens our capability to support airlines across Europe, North Africa, and Turkey within a short flight range.”
Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava, the Czech Republic’s largest regional airport, sits near the Polish and Slovak borders and is a key centre for cargo and leisure operations. The airport features the country’s longest runway and saw record activity in 2024, handling more than 22,000 tonnes of cargo and over 493,000 passengers—a 44 percent increase year-on-year.
Avia Solutions Group already operates at the airport through Baltic Ground Services (BGS), which provides into-plane fuelling.
The addition of JOB AIR Technic further expands FL Technics’ global MRO network, which currently includes heavy maintenance facilities in the UK (Prestwick), Indonesia (Jakarta and Bali), Lithuania (Vilnius and Kaunas), and a new hangar opening soon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The Czech acquisition enhances the group’s strategic coverage in Central Europe, improving service availability for both European and international airlines.
Avia Solutions Group continues to grow through targeted acquisitions across the aviation sector. Recent additions include UK-based Ascend Airways, Slovakia’s AirExplore, and Australian carrier Skytrans.
